Copy Editing - Light

A light copy edit focuses on grammar and spelling mistakes. It will not take into account style unless clarity is an issue. If clarity is a major issue throughout the work a heavy copy edit may be in order.

You get your returned document with tracked changes and a brief editorial note. Optional add-ons: a meeting to discuss your manuscript post-editing.

This service is right for you if you have a polished manuscript that needs a quick, gentle touch for any final polishing.

Copy Editing - Heavy

A heavy copyedit focuses on strengthening prose and refining sentence structure, with special care to clarity, as well as grammar and spelling mistakes.

You get your returned document with tracked changes, comments and an editorial note. Optional add-ons: a meeting to discuss your manuscript post-editing.

This service is right for you if you have a finished piece with a solid overall structure, but are looking for refinement in style and grammar.

Substantive Editing

Substantive editing focuses on large changes in structure, refining story elements like theme and character and some sentence level suggestions. The goal is to look at the piece's big picture more than the individual words used.

You get your returned document with tracked changes, comments and an editorial note. Optional add-ons: a meeting to discuss your manuscript post-editing.

This service is right for you if you have an early draft manuscript (<5000 words*) that is relatively complete, but you feel it needs some big changes to be a strong manuscript.

*though feel free to inquire if you really think I'm right for the job, and your piece is outside this limitation

TTRPG - Proofreading

Proofreading is used as a last look at a fully designed piece. Its focus is to make sure the user experience is top notch and will point out typos, misplaced text and disruptions in flow due to the placement of the text. It does not focus on style.

You get your returned document with mark-up and an editorial note.

This service is right for you if you have a finished and designed (final layout with design elements) TTRPG supplement or system that you want a final fresh set of eyes to ensure a great user experience

TTRPG - Copy Editing

A copy edit focuses on grammar and spelling mistakes, for the purposes of this being a supplement or system, user experience will be taken into account with notes to how understandable your mechanics and explanations are.

You get your returned document with tracked changes, comments and an editorial note.

This service is right for you if you have a finished written piece, but haven’t designed your pages yet.
