Writing
Writing services are mainly focused on webcopy and web content. Jerrica is happy to write item descriptions, web page copy, social media posts, emails and newsletters, short articles, and, her favourite, blog posts. She provides options for working from fact sets or researching on her own. She can also include design elements using photo editing and simple illustrations. She is up to writing on just about any topic but is particularly interested in nature (ex. conservation, sustainability, outdoor activities, etc.) health and wellness, food and cooking, folklore and the occult, nerd culture (ex. Video games, board games and table-top RPGs) and creative hobbies (ex. Writing, crochet, watercolour, etc.)
Jerrica has experience writing in a variety of styles with a variety of goals including, but not limited to, plain language, articles written in Canada Press style, papers written in both MLA and APA, advertorials, lifestyle/hobby blogging, creative nonfiction and fiction.
Editing
Editing services focus on copy editing for both fiction and nonfiction as well as substantive and stylistic editing for short fiction. Jerrica is knowledgeable about English grammar and how to make your writing clear and concise as well as offer suggestions for more eloquent and evocative writing if that’s your goal.
When it comes to substantive editing she prefers, and is more experienced with, shorter pieces but is open to talking about looking at longer pieces. She has a keen eye for narrative elements and is great at focusing on areas you want her to, but is also capable of looking at everything and giving suggestions on what jumps out to her.
Graphics and Design
Graphics and design services are focussed on social media graphics which accompany written copy as well as layout and design elements for web pages and table-top RPG supplements and systems. Jerrica has experience with GIMP and Adobe Suite for creating the graphic design pieces and is happy to work with stock images, images you provide, simple illustrations she creates and, when possible, photos she takes.
