Freelancing Services
I have a project that I think is right for you but I don't see the service in your offerings, can I reach out?
YES! Please reach out if you think your project is in my skill set and/or area of interest. I’m up for a challenge, and it’s hard to know what services I’m missing sometimes. Use this contact form and note as many details of your project as you can in the message and I’ll be happy to chat with you.
How do I know what services are right for me?
The best way to figure this out is to read the in depth descriptions at the bottom of each service page. Each ends in a statement of, “This service is right for you if…” but feel free to reach out to me through the contact form with your goals, and I can help recommend the right service or maybe even customize something to your specific project.

Please feel free to use the contact form with the choice of collaboration/sponsorship, and I'd be happy to chat with you about collaborating! Please provide as many details as you can about your idea.
Why do you have three YouTube channels?
I make some very different content and I figured it would be best for reach and engagement to have them separated out a bit. I consider combining things often, and things may change over time, but for now I like it this way.

Where does your name come from?
The inspiration came from the 80’s cartoon Jem and the Holograms but the name itself is a bit of a mystery. When I was a kid I was able to find the origin as Gaelic meaning strong leader, but now, usually all I can find is “it's a mix of Jessica and Erica.” I choose to still tell people the former.

Why did you start writing? Editing?

Looking back writing and editing were inevitable. It just took me a little while to listen to the calling I guess. I wrote a lot as a kid; I even had a blog where I posted my assignments from the high school Writer's Craft course and continued to post there into my twenties. At that point is was very much just a hobby and I expected to get nothing out of it (and I didn't pursue getting anything out of it.) What spurred me on to go back to school for Professional Writing was writing blog posts for my then employer Fruit Couture. While I had created a food and recipe blog during the lock-downs, it still didn't click until I was getting paid to do it that blog writing was something I could pick up as a career. Both writing for Fruit Couture and the Professional Writing program reignited a passion of mine and the program in particular really showed me what I could do with writing and editing while providing me with invaluable skills, experiences and connections.

What's Your Cat's Name?

His full name is Sir. Ignatius Featherbottom, but we call him Iggy (among many other pet names or course.) His name came about because I wanted name him something "old man-y" and my partner wanted to name him something long and silly. In addition, something that really stood out to me were his little reddish areas so Ignatius (derived from the Latin for fire) fit the bill and Ben chose the last name, and we decided it wasn't complete without a proper title!
